Mrs. Jarrell
Mrs. Jarrell came to us at a high functional level but with severe medical complexities that affected her ability to return home with family and care for herself. While managing her medical complexities, her functional status fluctuated depending on her pain level, eating habits and complications with her feeding tube.
After discussions with her and her family recommending removing the peg tube to decrease her pain and increase her quality of life, she had a short stay in the hospital. She returned to us to follow up with her rehab. She is maintaining and gaining weight, has improved her balance, and is now walking around without the aid of an assistive device. She is giving our therapists a run for their money every day while walking outside and will return home with family soon!

Ms. Dorlene Meeker came to us on 6L of oxygen and max A for all mobility and ADLs. After lots of hard work and even another quick hospital stay, Ms. Meeker decreased her oxygen use to her prior level of 3L, was walking 200 ft with a walker and able to do all of her ADLs completely on her own. She was able to walk out of here and up the steps into her newly built house that was finished during her stay.

Mary Peese was admitted to Cibolo Creek after a fall resulted in some pelvic fractures. Her pain due to her fractures kept her in bed for a few days and even refusing therapy. After working with the nursing staff to help with her pain level and assist her with getting out of bed, Mrs. Peese quickly progressed to walking with a rollator and was able to complete all of her ADLs on her own. After some balance training and cues for safety on her feet she walked out with her husband just in time to celebrate Thanksgiving!
